Weld County Office of Emergency Management has been requested by the City of Evans
to absorb the Mobile Communications Vehicle purchased in 2002 under the Domestic
Preparedness Grant. The bus was a disallowable purchase and the Colorado Department
of Public Safety covered the cost of the bus. This action removed the bus form the

The Communications Vehicle, a 47-passenger travel bus will work as a Command
Vehicle but there is a need for funding to support the changeover to a Command Vehicle.
The Change to the interior of the bus would include; 2 Mobile Data Terminals, White
Board Walls, Work Stations, Leveling the Floor, Generator and Painting the exterior.
Total cost for this project is estimated at 42,379.00. This project will be supported by
Weld County Sheriffs Office for maintenance and repairs. This Command Vehicle will
be a regional asset for use during law enforcement and emergency disaster operations.
