RE: APPROVE REAPPOINTMENTS TO WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, vacancies currently exist on the Workforce Development Board, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Pablo Sandoval be reappointed to said board
as the rehabilitation services representative; that Cathy Sandoval be reappointed to said board as
the adult literacy representative; that Laura Gavito be reappointed to said board as the small
business representative; that Joyce Johnson be reappointed to said board as the Department of
Labor and Employment representative (has served maximum length of time; however, reappointing
out of necessity, as she is the only Labor and Employment employee working in Weld County); and
that Alvina Derrera be reappointed to said board as the Migrant/Seasonal Farm/Older Workers
representative (has served maximum length of time; however, reappointing out of necessity, as she
is the only employee in Rocky Mountain SER office), and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to reappoint Pablo Sandoval, Cathy Sandoval,
Laura Gavito, Joyce Johnson, and Alvina Derrera to said board, all with terms to expire
December 31, 2011, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Pablo Sandoval, Cathy Sandoval, Laura Gavito, Joyce Johnson, and Alvina
Derrera, be, and hereby are, reappointed to the Workforce Development Board, all with terms to
expire December 31, 2011.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 25th day of February, A.D., 2009.
