HOUSING AUTHORITY
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
APRIL 27, 2009
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing
Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, April 27, 2009, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner William F. Garcia, Chair
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Sean P. Conway
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer
Commissioner David E. Long
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Elizabeth Strong
Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Conway moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board meeting
of March 23, 2009, as printed. Commissioner Kirkmeyer seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT ASSISTANCE 2009 AND AUTHORIZE
CHAIR TO SIGN: Tom Teixeira, Director, Greeley -Weld County Housing Authority, stated the application
is to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Division of Housing, for the amount of $101,130.00, and
is for a period commencing July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010. Mr. Texeira stated there are five
non-profit organizations which are requesting the grant funds; Catholic Charities is requesting $42,130.00,
Greeley Transitional House is requesting $20,000.00, A Woman's Place, Inc., is requesting $20,000.00,
Room at the Inn is requesting $10,000.00, and Stepping Stones of Windsor is requesting $3,000.00. He
stated the remaining $3,000.00 being requested in the application is for administration costs. In response
to Chair Garcia, Mr. Teixeira stated there are no changes to the application from what the Board reviewed
at a work session approximately three weeks ago. Commissioner Conway moved to approve said
application and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Kirkmeyer, the motion carried
unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
