RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF BID #B009-09, FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM
FOR WELD COUNTY COURTS BUILDING - DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for Bid #6009-09, Fire Sprinkler System for the Weld County Courts Building, due to a need
for the sprinkler system to be installed before additional construction, which has already
commenced in the building, may continue, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for Bid #B009-09, Fire Sprinkler System for the
Weld County Courts Building, be, and hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from Flow Fire Protection, Inc.,
in the amount of $24,679.00, be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 17th day of June, A.D., 2009.

Specification Section - Fire Sprinkler System Retrofit
Thank you for the opportunity to provide your company with pricing for the above referenced project. The price has been
based on the below scope inclusions/exclusions.
Install new wet pipe firs sprinkler system in basement In the Weld County Courthouse
Induded:
1. The system would be installed to the latest version of NFPA 13.
2. System Is to be a wet pipe system installed In the currently unprotected area in the basement of the existing courthouse.
System will utilize standard sprinkler heads In the common areas and Institutional type sprinkler heads in secure locations.
3. Material and Installation based on minimum requirements of NFPA 13 — Dynaflow and Dynathread pipe, C.I. and grooved
fittings
4. Permits and plan check fees
5. Light hazard Occupancy
6. Wet system — Areas to be maintained at 40 deg. Min. throughout
7. One year warranty for system
Exclusions'
1. Alarms, Detection, Remote Annunciator or Central Station Monitoring
2. IRI, Factory Mutual, or other HRP insurers requirements more stringent than NFPA standard(s) dted above
3, High piled, rack storage, flammable liquids storage or spraying occupancies
4. Cutting and patching — In areas requiring concealed Installation (I.e. holding cells) It Is the owners responsibility to
remove and replace existing ceiling for sprinkler installation.
5. Shut down fees
6. Relocation of existing branch lines or mains
7. Concealment of sprinkler piping.
8. Extinguishers
9. Off hours or night work
10. Painting of pipe or accessories
11. Dry or antifreeze system(s)
12. Centerline of Tile sprinkler placement for areas with ceilings

Add/Alternate: Working Off Hours Add 52,900.00
