RE: ACCEPT EQUIPMENT FOR 2009 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a list of equipment acquired through the
2009 Homeland Security Grant for the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment,
Weld County Sheriffs Office, Weld County Office of Emergency Management, and Weld County
Paramedic Service, and
WHEREAS, funding of the equipment is through a contract for the 2009 Homeland Security
Grant entered into by the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and the Northeast Colorado
Association of Local Governments, and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of the listed equipment will increase Weld County's capability of
preventing attacks, protecting against terrorism, responding to, and recovering from, all hazards and
incidents, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to accept said equipment resulting
from the 2009 Homeland Security Grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein
by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the equipment resulting from the 2009 Homeland Security Grant be, and
hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 23rd day of September, A.D., 2009.

Esther, I met with the Commissioners in a work session on 9/14/2009 and discussed the attached Homeland
Security Equipment Grant. I would like to move forward with this at a BOCC meeting to accept the equipment as
granted.
