I went to an appointment in the assessors office and met with a soon to be X employee (his last day of work was the end of the week). He was disinterested and rude. My appeal should have be decreased not increased, as you can plainly see by the comparisons. We are all aware of the US economy and its impact on our home values. Your values are very unrealistic in this current market. I have had meetings with real estate agents as well as other taxpayers. It is not righteous or fair to expect tax payers to pay more than the real value their home holds. Now I have to continue to appeal and petition spending more time and effort on what should be such an obvious result. Not to mention my and others tax payers money spent on the continuous appeals and red tape. I have attached the copies that were turned in to the assessors office and now to you. This matter should have been concluded easily with a decrease in my home values, certainly not an increase! Had the value remained the same as the previous year, I would not have had to appeal. And I would not have learned of just how decreasing home values are in our current market. And we would all have saved time and money. But instead you tried to raise my values $32,202 in a decreased economy. I will await my fair assessment and decrease in my property value. Respectfully, es Velda Mauro May 22, 2009 Velda Mauro 831 Locust St Windsor, Co 80550 Weld County Assessor: This is in protest of the recent Real Property Notice of Valuation. (4-14-09) A value of 208,084 is totally unrealistic, not valid, and obsurd. I have attached three comparables. They range from $145,000 to $164,900 Sold's within your timeline. Last assessment time you assessed my property to 175,882. So in reality my real property valuation should be Decreased from the 175,882 not Increased! The 1120 Walnut address sold for 164,900 has more than my house at 831 Locust. Walnut has one more bedroom than I have, plus a large yard, RV parking and storage Buildings and a sprinkler system. I have none of the above. The 560 Pine Dr comparable has new furnace and AC, new windows and garage door, and updated baths. And a laundry room (I have only a closet for washer and dryer) And are across from a park. So the 560 Pine Dr comparable is closest to my home minus the above differences. (sold $155,000) So I will expect my value will be decreased as stated above and will await the proper paperwork. If you have any differences of opinion as to what is stated above, I suggest you get in touch with me as to my expectations, and as to what is right and just.
