RE: APPROVE CHANGE IN BOUNDARY LINES OF THE COMMISSIONER DISTRICTS IN
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Section 30-10-306 (2) and (3), C.R.S., and Section 3-2 of the Weld County
Home Rule Charter, allow for County Commissioner district boundary lines in Weld County to be
revised and altered no more than every two years so as to make such districts as nearly equal in
population as possible, with such redistricting only taking place in odd -numbered years and being
completed by July 1 of such year, and
WHEREAS, the last consideration, determination, and re-establishment of County
Commissioners district boundaries by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, was by through Resolution #2007-1773, dated June 25, 2007, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is now of the opinion that the County
Commissioner districts do not conform to the proper division of the County with respect to
population, and
WHEREAS, in order that Weld County complies with the law in every respect, it is desirable,
necessary, and in the best interests of the County that the Board of County Commissioners now
consider, determine, and re-establish boundary lines of the County Commissioner districts within the
County, and
WHEREAS, upon notice published in the Greeley Tribune on May 29, 2009, the Board of
County Commissioners held a public hearing on June 1, 2009, to determine and re-establish
boundary lines of the County Commissioner districts within the County, with the division of precincts
into the respective County Commissioner districts as listed in the attached Exhibit "A," and the
boundary lines and division of precincts as shown on the attached Exhibit "B."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the boundary lines of the County Commissioner districts within the County,
with the division of precincts into the respective County Commissioner districts as listed in the
attached Exhibit "A," and as shown on the attached Exhibit "B," be, and hereby is, approved.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Docket #2009-38.A
On June 1, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, held a
public hearing to receive input from the public regarding changing the boundary lines of
Commissioner Districts in Weld County, Colorado. Three options for proposed boundary changes
were presented to the Board by the Weld County Clerk and Recorder. After consideration, the
Board chose Option B, which would move Precinct 206 from Commissioner District 2 to District 3,
and Precinct 218 from Commissioner District 3 to District 2. Option B would make the populations
between the three Commissioner Districts nearly equal, being between 81,000 and 82,000 in each
District. The Resolution which would adopt said Option B will be considered for approval on
Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Public comment will be considered. Copies of the maps showing the
three Options and resulting Commissioner Districts may be examined in the office of the Clerk to the
Board, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80631. Written comments are welcome and must be
received prior to July 1, 2009, in the office of the Clerk to the Board, P.O. Box 758, Greeley,
