RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE 2009 CHEMICAL HERBICIDES BID -
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for the 2009 Chemical Herbicides Bid for the Department of Public Works, Bid Request
No. B00409, due to the short spraying season, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the 2009 Chemical Herbicides Bid, Bid
Request No. B00409, for the Department of Public Works, be, and hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from each of the following
companies: Helena Chemical, in the amount of $11,104.80; UAP - CPS, in the amount of
$4,960.90; Van Diest, in the amount of $365.70; Simplot Glower Solutions, in the amount of
$2,782.50; and Simplot Partners, in the amount of $300.00, be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 16th day of March, A.D., 2009.

The Weld County Public Works Department/Weed and Pest Division requested bids for herbicides forthe 2009 spray
season through MAPO (Municipal Assembly for Procurement Officials). The bids have been received and the low
bidder, that meets County specifications, has been identified for each item.
