RE: APPROVE WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
MEDICAID FEE SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners by resolution establishes all fees that
can be charged by the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, and
WHEREAS, routine Medicaid fees charged by the Weld County Department of Public Health
and Environment are listed on the fee schedule approved by the Board, however, there are
occasions where the clinical services require a procedure that is not listed on the fee schedule, and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment
has requested that in those cases where the medical procedure is not listed on the approved fee
schedule that he have the authority to charge the appropriate Medicaid fee for the service that will
maximize the Medicaid revenue recovery for the County, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners concurs with the Director of the Weld
County Department of Public Health and Environment recommendation as long as they are advised
of the appropriate Medicaid fee after the fact, via a memorandum or email.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Board hereby approves the procedure that in those cases where the
medical procedure is not listed on the approved fee schedule that the Director of the Weld County
Department of Public Health and Environment shall have the authority to charge the appropriate
Medicaid fee for the service that will maximize the Medicaid revenue recovery for the County, and he
shall advise the Board of County Commissioners of the Medicaid fee used after the fact via a
memorandum or email.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 8th day of June, A.D., 2009.
