On Wednesday when you moved to modify the Community Corrections bylaws to drop the "or
designee" for the police chiefs, did you also intend to do the same for the Sheriff? This
is what was before the BOCC:
5. A Chief of a municipal police department within the territorial boundaries of Weld
County or designee.
6. The Weld County Sheriff or designee.
Esther and I thought you meant to drop the "or designee" for both, but the motion came out
oly for the police chiefs. We can alter that now if that was the intent.
Bruce.

RE: Bylaws
It is preferable to have the signed version to present to the Commissioners. Please
submit the signed original by 10:30 Monday, 2/16/09, in order to make the 2/18 Agenda
deadline.
Thanks!

Hi Bruce:
I met with our Community Corrections Board yesterday and they approved our edits to the
Bylaws. The only slight change (and I don't think the Commissioners would even notice it)
was under Article VI (5 & 6) and Section 3. (My) Board felt that designating a Chief and
the Sheriff" is better (I agree...it also does nothing to disrupt our current composition)
I've attached a clean version. I told our Board that I was working with you to coordinate
Commissioner Garcia's signature and then I can get Kevin Strobel's signature....or vice
versa whatever is the approved protocol. Thanks Bruce, please let me know next steps.
