RE: SUBDIVISION AND REESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN PRECINCTS FOR 2009
GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, although Section 1-5-101(5), C.R.S., requires that precinct boundaries which
are used in the general election in years ending in the number eight shall remain in effect until after
the general election in years ending in the number zero, the precincts so established may be
subdivided within the boundaries of the original precinct if deemed necessary by Steve Moreno,
Weld County Clerk and Recorder, and the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, when establishing precinct boundaries, Mr. Moreno and the Board must comply
with Section 1-5-101(3), C.R.S., which requires one precinct for every 2,000 eligible electors, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Moreno has identified six precincts that either have, or will this year, exceed
2,000 eligible electors and must be split, including Precincts 117, 200, 228, 232, 307, and 330, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to subdivide these Precincts and reestablish them
in accordance with the boundaries set in the attached maps for each such Precinct.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Precinct Numbers 117, 200, 228, 232, 307, and 330, be, and hereby are,
subdivided and reestablished for the 2009 General Election in accordance with the boundaries set
in the attached maps for each such Precinct.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 18th day of May, A.D., 2009.

Bruce,
Here is a map that GIS made for me.
The reason we had to spilt the precincts is becasue they were over the 2000 voter limit or were about to go over
the 2000 voter limit.
Let me know if this is adequate or if we need to do more work.
