REMARKS: Public Assistance and Food Stamp caseloads decreased slightly compared with the
prior month and compared with the same month in 1977.
The Aid to Dependent Children caseload decreased by 19 families compared to the previous
month; 54 families down compared with the prior year. Ninety-five fewer families pur-
chased Food Stamps in April compared with the previous month of March. April Food Stamp
participation has decreased also compared with the same month in 1977 - 2,017 families
versus 2,117 families in 1977.
Other caseloads did not show remarkable change.
Expenditures (excluding Old Age Pension) for April were $525,330. This amount was $33,385
less than the previous month but $32,562 higher than the same month in 1977. Department
spending remains under budget with 31.7% expended compared with the 33.3% "on-target" rate.
