HomeMy WebLinkAbout20090859RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON COUNTY ROAD 72 AT COUNTY ROAD 45 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that Stop signs be installed on County Road 72 at County Road 45, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install a Stop sign on County Road 72 at County Road 45, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 13th day of April, A.D., 2009. The MUTCD section 2B.05 suggests that a stop sign be placed at a street entering a through highway or street (T intersection) when sight distance is restricted. The following picture demonstrates the restricted view caused by a structure and a tree.
