Kirkpatrick Executive Director DIVISION OF PROPERTY TAXATION JoAnn Groff Property Tax Administrator This is in response to your organization's request for withdrawal 'referenced application from further consideration by this office. In accordance with quest, we will at this time cease our review of your application, placing it on record awn. According to our policy, if a request for withdrawal is re wed;before the application is assigned for review, we can issue a refund of the filing fees. However, once review has begun, the filing fees are non-refundable. Your request for withdrawal was received prior to assignment, and therefore a refund of your filing fees can be issued. Please be aware that there is no appeal from voluntary withdrawal of a request for property tax exemption. However, your withdrawal from consideration at this time will in no way prejudice any future claims for exemption through this office, should the property at some point begin to qualify pursuant to a statute administered by this office. There is one thing to remember, though: Our office is prohibited by statute from granting exemption for more than one year prior to the year of application. (Example: The earliest effective date possible for an application submitted in 2003 would be January 1, 2002). If jurisdiction over your claim for exemption lies with the county assessor, it is your responsibility to contact that office and forward your claim. Your avenues of appeal from an assessor's decision will be explained to you by that office. Our office has taken no position on the property's qualification pursuant to any statute governing exemption administered by the assessor.
