The enclosed quarterly reports for October through December 2008 are submitted as mandated
by CRS 38-37-104(3). The amount of excess funds for this 4th Quarter is $102,112.14.
The enclosed check in the amount of $102,112.14 payable to the County Treasurer is for deposit
into the Public Trustee Salary Fund as required by statute. Adding the $102,112.14 to the 1st
Quarter 2008 of $82,538.90; 2n° Quarter 2008 of 148,315.55; and 3`d Quarter 2008 of $300.45
brings the total to $333,267.04 excess funds for 2008.
At the expiration of the year, the County Treasurer shall then transfer the balance in the Public
Trustee Salary Fund to the county general fund as required by statute. Therefore, the County
Treasurer is to transmit the total of $332,966.59 plus any accrued interest for deposit to the Weld
County General Fund.
As mandated by statute, the Public Trustee will keep a separate reserve fund in an amount equal
to total operating costs of the previous year. The total operating costs for 2007 were
$620,752.57. This is the amount that must be held in a separate interest -bearing account.
