It is my understanding that the Board wants to go with the full increased MTC fines.
Attached is Paul Wood's schedule showing the full increase and an increase of $5 that goes to
the Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund. It is my understanding that the Board wants these
increases to become effective by January 1, 2010. To do so, I will ask Esther to put
together a Code amendment to have the 1st reading on the Board's agenda 11/2/09, 2nd reading
11/18/09, and 3rd 12/9/09. Is that OK?

Bruce,
Here is an electronic version of the proposed increase to the MTC Fine Schedule, this will
take our fine schedule to that of the State. It also includes the State mandated increase to
the Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund (SB 09-133), which increases surcharges by $5 to speed
and motorcycle violations.
The yellow highlighted fines are those that are just being increased to the State's level.
The orange highlighted fines are those that are increased to the State's level, plus the $5
increase to the surcharge for the TBI Trust.
I will not be available to attend the first reading on November 2nd, as I have selected to
attend the Command Staff Institute (Nov 2-13) in Lakewood. However, Deputy III Donnie Patch
will be able to attend the Commissioner's Meeting and available for questions. I should be
available for the remainder of the readings.
If there is anything else you need, please let me know. Thanks for the work you've done on
your end!
