RE: APPROVE RECOMMENDATION OF APPOINTMENTS TO JUVENILE SERVICES
PLANNING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 19-2-1602.7 of House Bill 93-134 and by Resolution dated
July 7, 1993, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, together with the
Chief Judge of the Judicial District, agreed to create the Local Juvenile Services Planning
Committee, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Gary Kessler be removed as the Municipalities
Representative; Christian Schulte be appointed as the District Attorney Representative to replace
Susan Knox; Kevin Nelan be appointed as the Juvenile Probation Representative to replace David
Simental; Cindy Villegas be appointed as the Sheriff's Representative to replace Dave Tuttle; Jack
Statler be appointed as the Greeley Police Department Representative to replace Mike Savage;
John Wilde be removed as the Island Grove Representative; David Rastatter be appointed as the
North Range Behavioral Health Representative to replace Paulette Tarnasky; Sean Conway be
appointed as the County Commissioner Representative to replace Dave Long; Ted Long be
appointed as the Human Services Representative to replace Charlie Dalpra; Ben Rainbolt be
removed as the South County Community Representative; and Edward Streker be appointed as
the Public Defender's Representative; and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to recommend to the Chief Judge of the
Nineteenth Judicial District that Gary Kessler be removed as the Municipalities Representative;
Christian Schulte be appointed the District Attorney Representative to replace Susan Knox; Kevin
Nelan be appointed as the Juvenile Probation Representative to replace David Simental; Cindy
Villegas be appointed as the Sheriff's Representative to replace Dave Tuttle; Jack Statler be
appointed as the Greeley Police Department Representative to replace Mike Savage; John Wilde
be removed as the Island Grove Representative; David Rastatter be appointed as the North Range
Behavioral Health Representative to replace Paulette Tamasky; Sean Conway be appointed as the
County Commissioner Representative to replace Dave Long; Ted Long be appointed as the Human
Services Representative; Ben Rainbolt be removed as the South County Community
Representative; and Edward Streker be appointed as the Public Defender's Representative.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Gary Kessler, John Wilde, and Ben Rainbolt hereby are recommended to
the Chief Judge of the Judicicial District for removal from the Local Juvenile Services Planning
Committee; and that Christian Schulte, Kevin Nelan, Cindy Villegas, Jack Statler, David Rastatter,
Sean Conway, Ted Long, and Edward Streker, be, and hereby are, recommended to the Chief
Judge of the Judicial District for appointments to the Local Juvenile Services Planning Committee.
