RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, by Resolutions #900548 and #900550, both dated June 25, 1990, and pursuant
to Section 3-7(1) of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, effective July 1, 1990, the Board of Weld
County Commissioners appointed Donald D. Warden as the Weld County Clerk to the Board, and
transferred the responsibility of the Weld County Clerk to the Board records and County Seal from
the Clerk and Recorder to the Clerk to the Board, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners approved a succession plan that
provided that Mr. Warden would retire from his position of Director of Finance and Administration
and Clerk to the Board, effective December 31, 2009, to work part-time as the Director of Budget
and Management Analysis, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners, as a result of the succession plan
desires to appoint Bruce T. Barker to the position of Clerk to the Board, in addition to his duties as
County Attorney, effective as of January 1, 2010.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by Board of Weld County Commissioners that,
effective January 1, 2010, Bruce T. Barker be, and hereby is, appointed the Clerk to the Board, in
addition to his duties as County Attorney.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 16th day of December, A.D., 2009.

APPOINTMENT OF CLERK TO THE BOARD, WITH OATH
THIS IS TO CERTIFY, that we have this day appointed, and do hereby appoint, Bruce T.
Barker as Clerk to the Board in and for Weld County, State of Colorado, with full power and authority
to act in this position, unless this appointment should be sooner revoked.
