Dear Mr. Jerke and Ms. Mika,
At a recent meeting regarding transportation in Weld County, the topic of discussion was options
for smaller communities, specifically Windsor, Milliken and Johnstown. Windsor currently runs
a limited senior transport service utilizing a patrol car that has been retired from service. As you
can imagine this is not the best scenario for either effective use (limited passengers) or
accessibility for the passengers or the driver assisting passengers.
Ms. Mika indicated that there might a possibility of utilizing a Weld County mini -van, mini -bus
or transport van (non-CDL requirement) vehicle in 2009 for this service, as we transition into the
expected IGA with Weld County for new transportation within and amongst in the three
mentioned communities.
The Town of Windsor respectfully requests consideration of a loaned vehicle as described above
and desires direction for any further information you may need to process this request. Date of
loan would be January 2, 2009 until implementation in 2010 of the new transportation program.
We look forward to your response.
