SUBJECT: 2009 55 -Ton Hydraulic Double Drop Deck Trailer, B0900043
The Public Works Department recommends the low bid from Holden Industries, Inc. and the second low bid
from Macdonald Equipment Co both be rejected as they do not meet specs. There is not sufficient clearance
between the rear of the truck and the front of the trailer on the Holden Industries bid. We would be unable to
load the type of heavy equipment that we use onto the gooseneck trailer which was bid by MacDonald
Equipment.
Therefore, we recommend award to the third lowest bidder, Transwest Trailers for one 55 -ton Hydraulic Double
Drop Deck Trailer at a cost of $71,111.11.
