QUIT CLAIM DEED
THIS QUIT CLAIM DEED Made by the COUNTY OF WELD, and STATE OF COLORADO,
acting through the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Weld,
State of Colorado, GRANTOR, and the Present Owners of the lands lying
on both sides of the hereinafter described property, Grantee, WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, under date of April 20, 1885, 0. E. Keeler did convey to
the County of Weld and the County of Arapahoe, State of Colorado:
A parcel of land 60 ft . wide being 30 ft. on each side of
a line described as follows, to-wit : Beginning at a point
on the Baseline 427.2 ft. east of the southwest corner of
Sec . 31, T. 1 N. , R. 66; thence north 64°22' east 650 feet,
more or less, to an intersection with the old travelled road
leading to the Brighton Bridge, containing 92/100 acres,
which deed was recorded July 22, 1885 in Book 43, Page 189, of the Office
of the County Clerk and Recorder, Weld County, Colorado, and,
WHEREAS, said parcel of land was conveyed for road purposes and said
road, if it was ever constructed, has long since been disused and Weld
County has not been maintaining a road in said location, and,
WHEREAS, there is no public need for said property to be held by
Weld County.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, Grantor does hereby
sell and quitclaim to Grantee all of Grantor' s right, title, claim,
interest and demand in and to the parcel of land heretofore conveyed to
Grantor and recorded in Book 43, Page 189, Weld County Records, with all
its appurtenances.
Dated this 17th day of April, A.D. 1968.

Dear Sir :
We are planning to replace the bridge located at 168th
Avenue (County Line Road) , and the irrigation ditch
just east of the Union Pacific Tracks approximately
three fourths of a mile west of the Platte River. The
present bridge has deteriorated very badly . Our plans
presently call for the bridge to be replaced with a
concrete precast box at a cost of $4, 250.00 plus the
labor cost of installation. Since one-half of the
bridge is located in Weld County we would at this time
like to request your approval on the project, and also
your approval for one-half of the cost to be borne by
Weld County.
I would appreciate hearing from you at your earliest
convenience.

of said cost.
Please be adv _ it : s been the policy for
many years for n- :hLoring ioun : s, including Adams,
that certain dis :nces alon: such county line roads be
solely maintainer by one co ty or another. It is my
understanding that this pa , cular section of road between
Adams and ' Co • ' s _, -nding from Highway 65 West
to and g th - on where subject bridge is located,
has be maintained solely by Adams County for over 10 years.
From ittle we of this point to the boulder County line,
this d has be maintained by Weld County. Never,
during his pert of time, has Weld County asked for
partici ion any contiguous county to pay for building,
repairin ntaining any roads, bridges, etc. , that
';'eld County has agreed to maintain.
During all this time, Eoulder, Adams , Larimer, :Weld
and Morgan County' s have had an understanding as to which
certain stretches of county line road would be maintained
by each, and this system has always worked very well.
