WELD COUNTY OIL AND GAS DAY
SEPTEMBER 23, 2009
WHEREAS, oil and gas is one of the dominant industries in Weld County, and
WHEREAS, Weld County produces half of the oil in our state, and
WHEREAS, Weld County ranks third in the state in natural gas production, and
WHEREAS, oil and gas account for over 40% of the county's assessed value and up to
80% of the assessed value of some local school districts, and
WHEREAS, natural gas is the clean fuel of the future, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Commissioners support developing the natural resources
of our county, and
WHEREAS, operators are using best management techniques to protect our
environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Weld County Commissioners
proclaim Wednesday, September 23, 2009, as Weld County Oil and Gas Day.
