BOX 758 GREELEY, COLORADO 80631 COLORADO February 14, 1975 Mr. Curtis Strong 317 Cherry Avenue Platteville, Colorado 80651 Dear Mr. Strong: You are undoubtedly aware of the fact that the Weld County Home Rule Charter Commission is making a study of our County form of Government, with the hope that we might be able to improve that form of Government under the Home Rule concept. One area of particular interest to you is the County Relations to Municipalities, more especially, the responsivness and manner in which Weld County Government might be of assistance to your local city' s problems. Our subcommittee that is now involved in a composite study of county relationships with these municipalities is chaired by Mayor John Martin of Fort Lupton. As Chairman of this Committee, Mayor Martin is striving to gain this information and I personally would solicit your support to him in hope that you might take some of your time or send a representative to a meeting that he will be calling shortly, to express your viewpoints in these matters. We scheduled a meeting previously, that for one of many reasons was poorly attended and we again solicit your interest and support. If a Home Rule concept is to become a reality in Weld County, I am sure that your Municipality will be greatly affected and this is the time for you to make your recommendations to us. The preliminary report of the County Relations with Municipalities Committee will be given to the Charter Commission on March 6; therefore, it will be necessary for Mayor Martin to schedule a meeting with you prior to that date. The meeting will be held in the new Public Health Building, just east of Weld County General Hospital, at 1516 Hospital Road.
