National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
May 8, 2009
WHEREAS, Mental Health Month is observed across the country each
May to raise awareness and understanding of mental health and mental
illness, and
WHEREAS, Friday, May 8, 2009, is National Children's Mental Health
Awareness Day, and
WHEREAS, addressing the complex mental health needs of children,
youth, and families today is fundamental to the health of all communities,
and
WHEREAS, North Range Behavioral Health, through its unique approach
to serving children and adolescents, is effectively caring for the mental
health needs of children, youth, and families in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE KNOWN that the Board of Weld County
Commissioners proclaims May 2009 as Mental Health Month and Friday,
May 8, 2009, as National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day in
Weld County and encourages all residents, government agencies, public
and private institutions, businesses, and schools to increase awareness
and understanding of mental illness and to commit to support appropriate
and accessible services for all citizens.
