#1657 FOR A MINERAL RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT FACILITY, INCLUDING OPEN
PIT MINING AND MATERIALS PROCESSING, IN THE A (AGRICULTURAL) ZONE
DISTRICT - LAFARGE WEST, INC.
A public hearing was conducted on September 30, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., with the following
present:
Commissioner William F. Garcia, Chair
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Sean P. Conway
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer
Commissioner David E. Long
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Jennifer VanEgdom
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Planning Department representative, Kim Ogle
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated August 10, 2009, and duly published August 13,
2009, in the Windsor Beacon, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of
Lafarge West, Inc., for a Site Specific Development Plan and Use by Special Review Permit
#1657 for a Mineral Resource Development Facility, including Open Pit Mining and Materials
Processing, in the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Bruce Barker, County Attorney, made this a
matter of record.
Kim Ogle, Department of Planning Services, indicated that the applicant has requested a
continuance of the matter in order to address some outstanding concerns. He requested that
the matter be referred back to staff, as there is no specific continuation date suggested at this
time.
No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
Commissioner Rademacher moved to refer the request of Lafarge West, Inc., for a Site Specific
Development Plan and Use by Special Review Permit #1657 for a Mineral Resource
Development Facility, including Open Pit Mining and Materials Processing, in the
A (Agricultural) Zone District, back to staff. The motion was seconded by Commissioner
Conway, and it carried unanimously. There being no further discussion, the hearing was
completed at 10:05 a.m.
