RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF
TAXES - EDWARD AND VICKY WATSON
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, at a
duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 14th day of September, 2009, at which meeting
there were present the following members: Chair William F. Garcia, and Commissioners Sean P.
Conway, Barbara Kirkmeyer, David E. Long, and Douglas Rademacher, and
WHEREAS, notice of such meeting and an opportunity to be present has been given to the
taxpayer and the Assessor of said County, with said Assessor, Christopher Woodruff, being
present, and taxpayers Edward and Vicky Watson, not being present, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have carefully considered the attached
petition, and are fully advised in relation thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Board concurs with the recommendation of the assessor and the
petition be, and hereby is, denied, and an abatement or refund not be allowed as follows:

Dear Ms. Gesick.
We are hand caring this letter to your office on the above date, in reference your letter dated
August 24, 2009, advising us on the upcoming hearing on our petition for abatement on over
evaluation of property described as 3772 Eureka Way, scheduled number R8928900.
The assessors office blind sighted us with an astronomical evaluation in 2007.
We want a chance to be heard to explain our position and let it be known that we are always willing
to pay our fare amount of taxes, but this is way out of line.
Enclosed is a recent article printed in our local newspaper dated Sept. 5, 2009. This clearly
helps point out why our building has an 87.5 percent vacancy rate on the second floor since
the building was built. We have had professional Realtors working on rental
space from the getgo with very minimal results. Thank you for letting us be heard on Sept. 14,
2009, at 9:00 a.m.

scheduled for September 14, 2009, at 9:00 a.m., in the First Floor Meeting Room, Weld County
Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado.
The Assessor is recommending that the Board deny your petition. You are not required to be
