RE: APPROVE ASSIGNMENT OF TAX SALE CERTIFICATE TO TOWN OF EATON,
COLORADO
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board now is the owner of Tax Sale Certificate No. 20030297, which
applies to property which is part of the Sugar Mill Annexation #2, located in part of the S1/2 of
Section 31, Township 7 North, Range 65 West of the 6th P.M., in the Town of Eaton, Weld County,
Colorado, and is for the value of the 2003 taxes, with endorsements for the years 2004 through
2007 plus interest, and
WHEREAS, the subject improvements include portions of the old sugar mill at that location,
and
WHEREAS, the Town of Eaton has paid to the Treasurer the sum of $19,457.80, which
represents the full amount of the outstanding taxes, interest, penalties, and assignment fee, with
the desire to obtain the subject property through a Treasurer's Deed for the purpose of
redevelopment, and
WHEREAS, the Board has the authority to assign the Certificate in this manner pursuant
to C.R.S. § 39-11-120.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Weld County Treasurer be, and hereby is, directed to prepare Tax Sale
Certificate No. 20030297 for assignment to the Town of Eaton.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman is hereby authorized to sign
said assignment, if necessary, and any other associated necessary documentation to affect said
assignment.
