HomeMy WebLinkAbout20093488.tiffTHE WELD COUNTY REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY BOARD TUESDAY, June 23, 2009, 10:30 AM WELD COUNTY LAW ADMINISTRATION BUILDING The Weld County Regional Communications Advisory Board met in session in on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10:32 a.m. in the Weld County Law Administration building. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by Bill Garcia. Present were board members Bill Garcia, Gary Barbour, Rod Deroo, Carl Harvey, Kim Fleithman, Jay McDonald, Mark Lawley, Greg Thompson, Phil Tiffany and Tim Zimmerman. Staff members present were Mike Savage, Dave Mathis, and Susan Johnson. Ft. Lupton Fire Department Captain Greg McGinn was also present. MINUTES: Rod DeRoo moved to approve the minutes of the April 28th meeting; Kim Fliethman seconded, motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Staff Report: David Mathis presented Dispatch stats for May 2009 [refer to Sgt. Mathis' "May 2009 WCRCC Monthly Report and Personnel Report as of May 2009]. 2. Coroner Notifications: Following up on last month's concern from the coroner's office, Dave Mathis and Mike Savage recently met with the Weld County Police Chiefs. They confirmed that our policy is for the Communications center to notify the coroner at the request of law officers on scene. The dispatch center will not be proactively notifying the coroner's office, and fire and ambulance will not ask for the coroner to scenes. NEW BUSINESS (no new business) As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:43. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, July 28th , 2009. Additional Information/Projects • All newer dispatcher trainees hired in August and January 09 are still progressing very well in training. • We have only 6 dispatchers in training. Three have been in call -taking training during May. • 911 call answering times county -wide for May 2009: Calls answered in less than 10 seconds: 92.86% Calls answered in less than 15 seconds: 99.07% • Fire dispatch times for May 2009: Received to Dispatched *Less than 1 minute: 37.15% *Less than 90 seconds: 93.28% (Last year: (Last year: 81.58%) 93.80%) * We currently have 3 trainees training on call -taking. This has a dramatic affect on call entry times. Hello
