MEMORANDUM
TO: Clerk to the Board DATE: July 7, 2009
FROM: Janet Carter E.I., Public Works
COLORADO SUBJECT: Installation of Stop Signs at CR 71 & 80
A Request Resolution from the BOCC directing Public Works to install traffic regulatory signs (Stop sign R1-1)
at the intersection of CR 71 and 80. The MUTCD section 2B.05 suggests that stop signs should be placed at
Intersection of a less important road with a main road when application of the normal right-of-way rule would
not be expected to provide reasonable compliance with the law.
East and West bound traffic should be stopped on WCR 80 as the roadway intersects WCR 71. There are
sight distance issues at this intersection due to rolling hills and vegetation in the area.
