RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING USE BY SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT #1657 FOR A
MINERAL RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT FACILITY, INCLUDING OPEN PIT MINING AND
MATERIALS PROCESSING, IN THE A (AGRICULTURAL) ZONE DISTRICT - LAFARGE
WEST, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on the 30th day of
September, 2009, at the hour of 10:00 a.m. in the Chambers of the Board for the purpose of hearing
the application of Lafarge West, Inc., 10170 Church Ranch Way, Suite 200, Westminster, Colorado
80021, for a Site Specific Development Plan and Use by Special Review Permit #1657 for a Mineral
Resource Development Facility, including Open Pit Mining and Materials Processing, in the
A (Agricultural) Zone District on the following described real estate, to -wit:
E1/2 SE1/4 of Section 25, and the NE1/4 of
Section 36, all in Township 6 North, Range 67 West;
and the W1/2 SW1/4 /4 of Section 30, and the NW1/4 /4 of
Section 31, all in Township 6 North, Range 66 West
of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado
WHEREAS, at said hearing, Planning staff advised the Board that the applicant has
requested a continuance of the matter, to allow additional time to collect information regarding the
case, and requested that the matter be referred back to staff until the applicant is ready to proceed,
and
WHEREAS, the Board heard all of the testimony and statements of those present and
reviewed the request of the applicant and, having been fully informed, finds that this request be
approved and the matter should be referred back to staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the abovementioned matter be, and hereby is, referred back to staff.
