RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON MORRIS AT
PATRICK AND WOODRUFF
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board
that Stop signs be installed on Morris at Patrick and Woodruff, to ensure safety to the traveling
public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install Stop
signs on Morris at Patrick and Woodruff, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall
conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 22nd day of June, A.D., 2009.

COLORADO SUBJECT: Installation of Stop Signs on Morris at Patrick & Woodruff
A Request Resolution from the BOCC directing Public Works to install traffic regulatory signs (Stop Sign R1-1)
at the intersections of Morris & Patrick and Morris & Woodruff. The MUTCD section 28.05 suggests that stop
signs should be placed at Intersection of a less important road with a main road when application of the normal
right-of-way rule would not be expected to provide reasonable compliance with the law.
East bound traffic should be stopped at the intersection of Morris & Patrick. East and West bound traffic should
be stopped at the intersection of Morris & Woodruff. Both intersections should be controlled to be consistent
with the traffic control in this area of the county.
