Dear Mr. Pizzato,
Thank you for your letter regarding the proposed power line. I studied
and drove the possible routes for the line with people from the Platte
River Power Authority, the Platte River Protective Association and the
other two County Commissioners.
Wherever the line goes there will be an invasion of someone's property,
which I regret very much. The route chosen is anticipated to disrupt the
least number of people and properties.
This situation has happened to me personally; one of these lines marches
through my farm, but I have had to a rept it because I realize this is
the only way electricity can be distributed. It is unfortunate these
lines have to disfigure the countryside, but it is a necessary evil of
our way of life.
If there is any other future problem with which I may be of help, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
,{/ e

Dear Sir:
We own property which borders fur I mile on Road 3 Weld
County where we have lived and farmed for 30 years. We are
concerned and dismayed by the decision to make Road 3 the
preferred route for the Platte Valley Power Authority power
line. We are unalterably opposed to this location.
As the frontage of any property is 'its most valuable
portion, we believe the original preferred route i mile west
of road 3 would be much less damaging financially to individ-
uals as well as the total community.
Aesthetic damage as well as personal trauma would be
less on the original preferred route,as the Road 3 route
takes the line almost diredtly over many, many more homes.
The Proctective Association,we understand, had indicated
to you that there is no oppostion on Road 3 route. This
simply is untrue. The majority of those living south of
Highway 56 has expressed total oppostion to this plan.
We urge you to pursuer, the original route i mile west
of Weld County Road 3 for the lboation of the power line.

Dear Sirs:
Why does the light line have to come over our house?
Why can't it go through a feild? Instead of going through a feild, you go through a happy
home, a beautiful yard, and the thing we have Ranted all our life to have, and finally got.
Please go through a feild or around on a different road or back of a fence line or
something. Please?
If you go through a feild, you can save money because, you will have to buy three new
homes, and relocate us tool But I want to live here. I have lived here all my life and
I want to live live here, the rest of it too.!., without a dumb light that doesn't even
concern us, that were not even going to use. We have two T'V's and a stero that is going
to be completely ruined too: There will be so much stactic. My mom is so upset she won't
be herself for month's, if that light line goes over. A feild wouldn't be as much trouble
and it wouldn't be as much fighting. Even if its OUR feild, But just not over our house
PLEASE? Go over behind Chilsons about w of a mile and down Mrs. Pratts fench line and
that would be a good place. I want so much to live here for ten more years. PLEASE?????
For my mom, and me, make one exception. I know its alot to ask but PLEASE???
I dont want to move or have a light line in our front yard, that were not even going
to benifit from, when you can go through a feild without breaking a home, family,
a marrige.
I!m really scared that what's going to happen. Please move it over, even in ihf;o*&fbild?
PLEASE???????
Please let the man in charge of the light line read this, and PLEASE, PJF.ASR
move it.
I'm only 14 but I really do want my house and my family.
So PWTAASW PLEASE, read this, PLEASE.
Sincerly,
Diane schaal

Dear Miss Schaal,
I received your letter about the proposed power line. Four alternate
routes were inspected for the line and it was decided a route along Larimer
County Road 11 and Weld County Road 3 would cause the least disruption of
people, homes, trees and fields. All interference with irrigation systems
and fanning operations would be eliminated by using the County right-of-way.
Itbecomes very difficult for me and the rest of the Board to have to make
decisions of this type directly affecting you in this way, but under the law,
we are required to allow public utilities to use the rights-of-way.
Not only do we feel the most workable route was chosen, but we have assurance
fran the Platte River Power Authority that it will make every effort to
construct the line so it will cause no interference with radio or television
and that it will stay on the opposite side of the road of hares and buildings
along the route wherever possible.
Thank you for your letter--I wish I could have complied with your requests.

Dear Mr. Pizzato,
I received your recent letter regarding the power transnission line and
your concern is appreciated. Because this Board wished to minimize
interference to homes and buildings, four alternate routes were inspected.
The resulting designated route is along Lorimer County Road 11 and Weld
County Road 3. Along County Road 3 the line will be diverted from one side
of the road to the other to cause the least interference possible to hares
and yards along the route.
It becomes very difficult for me and the rest of the Board to have to make
decisions of this type directly affecting a portion of Weld County residents,
but under the law, Boards of County Commissioners and other local government
bodies are required to allow public utilities to use their rights-of-way.
Not only do we feel the most workable route was chosen, but we have assurance
from the Platte River Power Authority that it will make every effort to
construct the line so it will cause no interference with radio or television
and that it will stay on the opposite side of the road of homes and buildings
along the route wherever possible.
I personally would be interested in knowing the future extent of cooperation
that you receive from the Platte River Power Authority as it works out the
designated construction route with property owners who will be affected.
If you still have questions or need further information, please do not
hesitate to contact me.

Dear Sirs
We Max and Marjorie Schaal would like to protest
against having the Platte River Power Line go
down Road Three, 2 miles east and 1 mile south of
Berthoud passed our house.
We feel it would be more advantageous to go down
the original Route one half mile west of road
Three.
By coming down Road Three it would ruin the front-
age of all the land and decrease the value of all
private dwellings ours included with no front yard
left anymore.
We live in Weld County and no one will benefit from
this line in Weld County.
Thank you,
