RESOLUTION
RE : USE OF COUNTY VEHICLES AND MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT .
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado , pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld
County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado , and
WHEREAS, the energy crisis and rising cost of fuel has
raised the issues of equity in the reimbursement of the cost
of travel for County employees required to use their own
vehicles and the use of County vehicles , and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado wishes to be fair to all employees in
regard to travel cost and reimbursement , and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado believes that County employees using their
own vehicles for County business should be justly compen-
sated, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado wants to minimize the use of County vehicles
in the interest of conserving fuel consumption and reducing
County energy costs , and
WHEREAS, the County Attorney has advised the Board of
County Commissioners that mileage reimbursement is a matter
of compensation, and under the Weld County Home Rule Charter,
the Board can establish the mileage reimbursement rate for
County employees and officials , and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Council has sent the attached
letter of November 8 , 1979 , concerning use of County vehicles
and mileage reimbursement .
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado hereby establishes
the mileage reimbursement rate for County employees and
officials at SIXTEEN CENTS (16¢) per mile effective January 1 ,
1980 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the policy, as more fully
set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated

herein by reference , covering the use and garaging of County
vehicles is hereby adopted and becomes effective February 1 ,
1980 .
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 17th
day of December, A.D. , 1979 .
