RE: INCREASING BENEFITS UNDER THE WELD COUNTY RETIREMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the Weld County Retirement Board has heretofore
been created by resolution of the Weld County Board of Retirement,
and
WHEREAS, Section 7.6 of the aforesaid Plan provides that
benefits in payment may be increased or decreased upon the advice
of the actuary employed by the Board, and
WHEREAS, the actuaries for the Plan have recommended an
increase in benefits in payment which is believed to be in the
best interest of the present and future members of the Plan,
such increase to take effect on January 1, 1980, and
WHEREAS, such increase is believed to be nondiscriminatory
and in conformance with Section 401(a) and other applicable
provisions of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, the County Board of Retirement of Weld •
County, Colorado elects, pursuant to Section 7.6 of the Plan,
to increase pension benefits being paid to retired Members and
their beneficiaries on December 31, 1979 by five percent (5%) ,
such increased pensions to be payable on and after January 1,
1980.
The above and foregoing Resolution was submitted and duly
approved by the County Board of Retirement on the /I, day of
August, 1979.
