RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE AIR DUCT CLEANING FOR HUMAN
SERVICES BUILDING B BID - DEPARTMENT OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for Air Duct Cleaning for Human Services Building B Bid for the Department of Buildings and
Grounds, Bid Request No. B0900175, due to the need to quickly clean and repair the air duct
system, in order to avoid failure of the system, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the Air Duct Cleaning for Human Services
Building B Bid for the Department of Buildings and Grounds, Bid Request No. B0900175, be, and
hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from Doc's Super Vac, in the
amount of $23,638.00, be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 25th day of November, A.D., 2009.

There were two bids received for the air duct cleaning for the Human Services Bldg #B.
The low bid was from Doc's Super Vac in Ft Collins in the amount of $23,638.00 and the
second bid was from Mighty Ducts LLC out of Cheyenne WY. Their bid was for
$27,467.56.
Buildings and Grounds recommends the low bid from Doc's Super Vac be awarded the
contract to clean the air ducts in Bldg #B. This will include the HVAC system, ductwork that
is accessible, and air diffusers.

We Hereby propose to provide all labor, equipment, materials and supervision necessary to perform the following:
Complete mechanical cleaning of all components of six (6) air conveyance systems (i.e. air
handling systems, sheet metal ducts, rigid fiberglass ductboard, flex duct, masonry, etc.). Includes
restoration of lined ductwork,
Proposal based on prints supplied. Deviations may result in change orders.
Process to include Removal of visible surface contaminants and cleaning of air -side surfaces of all air intakes, air
handlers, coils, dampers, terminal units, diffusers and duct systems, as specified herein, including but not limited to,
all adjunct components. Cleaning will properly remove foreign materials from the system. The cleaning procedures
are done with specialized equipment, i,e., high efficiency vacuum system, pneumatic equipment, high pressure
washers, duct brushes etc., as required. Special attention is taken while cleaning to prevent contaminants from
becoming airborne and disseminated into occupied areas. All effluent shell be removed and disposed of by Doc's
Super vac.
Doc's Super Vac is a National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) member and all work is performed
with NADCA certified technician and owner, Doc Brown, on the job at all times. We follow all NADCA
