RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF BID #B0900075, PRAIRIE DOGS -
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for Bid #60900075, Prairie Dogs, for the Department of Public Works, in order to
accommodate the work schedule, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the Bid #B0900075, Prairie Dogs, for the
Department of Public Works, be, and hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bids from Get -R -Done Pest
Control, LLC, and Sorenson Pest Management, Inc., in the amounts of $1.00, per hole, and $1.35,
per hole, be, and hereby are, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 18th day of February, A.D., 2009.

SUBJECT: Acceptance of the Prairie Dog Bids
The treatment of Prairie Dogs was put out to bid on February 12. The Bid Number is #80900075. This bid is effective
till December 31, 2009. The best product of choice for the treatment of Prairie Dogs is Rozol. Unfortunately it has a
limited time window and can not be applied after March 15. Due to this short window span we are asking that the bid
be presented and approved quickly to allow time for the operator to schedule the work within the allotted time frame.
We are proposing to treat Hoekstra Gravel Pit along with Southwest Weld County Services Complex and Sheepdraw
Gravel Pit. The budget for this project is $32,000 in 2009.
I recommend we accept the low bid and the second low bid, incase we need a back-up company.
