Meyer, Executive Director, CSAC Date: February 23, 2009 Subject: • CSU Extension Programs I am writing in support of continuing the Colorado State University Cooperative Extension office's Agricultural Education program. In light of the fact that Weld County currently generates in excess of $1 billion in agricultural related economic activity, I question reductions in programs that impact this enterprise. The local CSU office is a conduit for new technological information generated from research and applied to the farm. Losing this information pipeline and the personnel to decode it locally, will dearly put some Weld County agriculturalists at competitive disadvantages during production seasons. There is no substitute for local, unbiased production assistance. Therefore, the Colorado Sunflower Administrative Committee and its 200,000 acre Eastern Colorado membership opposes discontinuing the CSU Cooperative Extension's Agricultural program. Sincerely, tern Ron F. Meyer Executive Director 2009-0539 `7cp—Iq Hello
