RESOLUTION
RE: GRANT REQUEST OF THE CITY OF GREELEY FOR USE OF THE
CENTENNIAL CENTER COMMONS AREA ON AUGUST 1 , 4 AND 5,
1979 .
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the City of Greeley is sponsoring Arts Picnic,
a community art festival on August 4-5, 1979 in Lincoln Park,
and
WHEREAS, in connection with said Arts Picnic, the City
of Greeley has requested that they be allowed to use the Cen-
tennial Center Commons area on the following dates :
August 1: 8:00 p.m. - Summer Symphonic Band Concert,
Eugene Corpon, Conductor (Arts Picnic
Kick-off)
August 4 : afternoon - Clay Taylor Orchestra and
immediately following, dramatic readings
by a Community Theater group.
August 5: late after concert by the Chamber Festival
Orchestra, Howard Skinner, Conductor.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it
advisable to grant said request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that the request of
the City of Greeley to use the Centennial Center Commons
area on the dates as mentioned above be, and hereby is ,
granted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 30th day of
May, A.D. , 1979 .

Dear County Commissioners,
Thank you so much for letting the City of Greeley use the
Centennial Cannons area for ARTS PICNIC on August 4-5. The space
was very good for the perfoiti,ers and everyone enjoyed being in the
area. It will be even better when the trees grow and create sane
shade!
Our special thanks to Carol Burkhart and Andy Petruzzi for their
assistance.
Again, thank you for your support in making ARTS PICNIC a success!

Dear Friends:
The City of Greeley is sponsoring Arts Picnic, a community art festival on
August 4-5, 1979 in Lincoln Park. We would like to use the area around the
Court House and Centennial Center for some of the activities during the fes-
tival. The performances and dates we have tentatively set that we would like
to hold in the Centennial Commons area are:
August 1: 8:00 p.m. Summer Symphonic Band Concert, Eugene Corpoon,
Conductor (Arts Picnic Kick-off)
August 4: afternoon- Clay Taylor Orchestra and immediately following,
dramatic readings by a Community Theater group.
August 5: late after concert by the Chamber Festival Orchestra, Howard
Skinner, Conductor.
We feel this area would be very suitable with a good link to the park. I
would like approval to proceed with the use of the area. I would work closely
with Carol Burkhart and the Building and Grounds Department.
