HomeMy WebLinkAbout750608.tiff RESOLUTION WHEREAS, it has now come to the attention of the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that a condemnation of Farmers Reservior and Irrigation Company, Farmers Highline and Reservior Com- pany and Lower Clear Creek is being sought by the municipalities of Thornton, Northglenn, Dacono, and Westminster, Colorado; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado is aware that in the event the municipalities of Thornton, Dacono, Northglenn and Westminster prevail, that many thousands of acres of irrigated farmland will become in essence barren for lack of water, and its evaluation greatly lessened thereby; and WHEREAS, it is the determination of the Board of County Commis- sioners; of Weld County, Colorado that the Colorado Land Use Commission ought to intervene in the condemnation proceedings in question because of the far reaching effect that the unprecedented decision in this case will have on priority of productive agricultural land and reduction of revenue to a County in which land sought to be condemned is situated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Colorado Land Use Commission urging it to intervene in the condemnation proceedings currently being conducted in Jefferson County by the municipalities of Thornton, Westminster, Dacono, and Northglenn against Farmers Reservior and Irrigation Company, Farmers Highline and Reservior Company and Lower Clear Creek. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 29th day of January, A. D. , 1975.
