Smyth. County Engineer Subject: Petition to Post 35 miles per hour limit on Weld County Road 64 at Poudre City (Farmers Spur) The petitioners request that Weld County Road 64 be posted at 35 miles per hour due to: 1. Residential Development 2. High Volume of Traffic 3. SchoolChildren Crossing Road The traffic was counted at 597 ADT. The school district also strongly supports this action (see attached letter) . Due to the relatively high population density, the railroad crossing, live- stock feeding and dairy operation, as well as the school consideration, it is recom>3rjded that the petition be granted. ltaeS. We are currently picking up 11 children on the school bus in this area and have had problems in the past with cars not stopping for the bus while children are loading and unloading. Part of the problems have been due to the high amount of traffic from Kodak which use County Road 64. 2. At this point in time, it appears that the School District will be establishing a central loading and unloading zone for the children which are being picked up in Poudre City. This will probably be taking affect when school starts back in the fall of this year. At that time, the School District will have to come before the Board requesting a lower speed limit if nothing is done at this time. Respectfully, Robert C.
