, WHEREAS, the University Bulldogs softball team competed in the Class 3A state championship
c against the Eaton Reds Oct. 25 at the Aurora Sports Park; and
` WHEREAS, the two teams showed why their contests have sparked a rivalry in recent years. ,+ k ',

WHEREAS, the victory made the Bulldogs' stellar season even sweeter. Universitywon the
i state championship; the softball program's second in school history. The Bulldogs finished the
I � ! season 27 and 2 and on a 17-game winning streak; and

WHEREAS, those marks signify that the state championship was the culmination of consistent�/ teamwork and stellar play. The Colorado High School Activities Association also took notice, s
�. � with eight team members being named all state: First Team-Jasi Cole, Natalie Galindo, and ) _.\-...,,,,,
6� Sydney Goetzell, who was also named 4A Player of the Year. Second Team - Kamzee Kern
Y. and Emma Zacheis. Honorable Mention - Bergen Duarte and Kenzie Wyatt. Head Coach N
Chris Hutton was named Class 3A Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, we encourage the team never to forget being collectively called champions and

many goals accomplished if the traits used this season—hard work, teamwork, and a never- /'
ending desire to improve—are utilized moving forward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that
December 10, 2025, be recognized as University Bulldogs Day in Weld County. We are proud ���y
