SUBJECT: Acceptance of the Prairie Dog Control Bid #B1000055
The treatment of Prairie Dogs was put out to bid on February 5. The Bid Number is#B1000055. This bid is effective
till December 31, 2010. The best product of choice for the treatment of Prairie Dogs is Rozol. Rozol is limited to use
from October 1 to March 15. Currently it is available for use.
We are proposing to treat Hoekstra Gravel Pit along with Southwest Weld County Services Complex and Sheepdraw
Gravel Pit. The budget for this project is $15,000 in 2010.
The average number of holes treated in 2009 was:
1. Sheepdraw- 1600 holes
2. Hoekstra - 1700 holes
3. Southwest Weld County Services Complex - 100 holes
4. Southeast Weld County Services Complex- 12 holes
If all of these holes require treatment in 2010 the cost would be $3427 if the Rozol product is used and $6895 if aluminum
phosphide is used. Typically 2 treatments are implemented each year for prairie dog control.
I recommend we accept the low bid and the second low bid, incase we need a back-up company.
