HomeMy WebLinkAbout20102713.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES - SHARON METCALF WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, at a duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 15th day of November, 2010, at which meeting there were present the following members: Chair Douglas Rademacher, and Commissioners Sean P. Conway, William F. Garcia, Barbara Kirkmeyer, and David E. Long, and WHEREAS, notice of such meeting and an opportunity to be present has been given to the taxpayer and the Assessor of said County, with said Assessor, Christopher Woodruff, being present, and taxpayer Sharon Metcalf, not being present, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has carefully considered the attached petition, and is fully advised in relation thereto. This area mostly included siding and window replacement repairs from the tornado. The assessor's office was notified the beginning of September, 2010, that the above-mentioned property was deemed unlivable from the May 22, 2008, tornado. An inspection of the home was completed on September 13, 2010. Upon inspection and speaking with the homeowner, it does appear there were structural damages to the home due to the tornado. The homeowner also explained that her home was red tagged, which was the indicator put on homes to indicate that the home was unlivable, due to damages from the tornado. Russ Weber with Safebuilt was contacted as they were handling the inspection and determination of the different levels of damage from the May 22, 2008,tornado. Russ did indicate, that at the time of the inspection on May 22, 2008, in the evening,that the home located at 323 North Shore Circle, Windsor, CO 80550, account R10096196,was deemed unlivable due to structural damage incurred from the tornado. At this time, Russ also indicates that no repairs have been made to the home and would still be considered unlivable.
