RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON COUNTY ROAD 20 AT
COUNTY ROAD 31
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board
that Stop signs be installed on County Road 20 at County Road 31,to ensure safety to the traveling
public, and
WHEREAS,the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the
protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install Stop
signs on County Road 20 at County Road 31, for the safety of the general public, and said signs
shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 14th day of June, A.D., 2010.

COLORADO SUBJECT: Installation of Stop Signs at CR 31 & 20
Public Works requests approval to install traffic regulatory signs (Stop sign R1-1) at the intersection of CR 31
and 20. East and West bound traffic would be stopped on WCR 20 as the roadway intersects WCR 31.
The Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) section 2B.05 suggests that stop signs should be
placed at Intersection of a less important road with a main road when application of the normal right-of-way
rule would not be expected to provide reasonable compliance with the law.
