Dear Mr. Erlacher:
Regarding your request to have the Building Inspection Department
check on any violations in Country Estates Subdivision, I have
the following information to report:
1) 42 lots have Building Permits
2) 19 homes have had final inspections
3) 3 homes have had a semi-final inspection
4) 10 homes have been inspected through framing, but
are occupied
5) 2 homes have had foundation inspections only
6) 2 homes have had footing inspections
7) 21 lots are vacant
8) There are 6 homes for which there is no Building Permit
or Building Permit number on file.
9) One residence has a Building Permit, but has not
started construction.
All but six of the 42 lots with homes on them are being lived
in. There are four mobile homes located within the subdivision,
one of which has a Mobile Home Permit for use while the permanent
home is being built; three of these mobile homes do not have
permits. The homes which have not had a final inspection, but
are being lived in, are not yet completely finished.
The Board believes the enforcement of the Building Inspection
Code in these instances would not be feasible, given the passage
of several years and the difficulty in establishing clear
responsibility for compliance.

• The Building Inspection Department is performing inspections
on structures still under construction when the owner or
builder calls for inspections, and that department is enforcing
the Building Code on the later permits.
