Home My WebLink About20101122.tiff RESOLUTION RE: ACCEPT TRANSFER OF $125,000 OF TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) RESERVES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS - MORGAN COUNTY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, on May 26, 2010, the Board of County Commissioners of Morgan County approved a Resolution that authorized the transfer of $125,000 from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Reserves to Weld County, a copy of which is attached hereto, and WHEREAS, Weld County is in need of such funds, and WHEREAS, Morgan County is authorized by Colorado law and regulations to transfer monies from its Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Reserves to another county, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to accept the transfer of $125,000 of TANF Reserves from Morgan County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the transfer of $125,000 of Morgan County's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Reserves to Weld County be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to sign any necessary documents to effectuate the transfer. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 26th day of May, A.D., 2010. This is the first step toward having us purchase the $150,000 through the Works Allocation Committee. I would recommend having a resolution from our Board to formally accept the money from Morgan County as we did with Larimer County when they transferred TANF dollars to us for Tornado relief and thanking them. Is that possible? I would hope that we could include our resolution to the WAC as well as to the Morgan County Commissioners. Is this Wednesday too soon to do this?
