Brief description of the problem/issue:
Change Order No. 1 — The original Agreement for Professional Services under the On-Call Geotechnical
Contract can be extended from June 18, 2010, to June 17, 2011, as permitted by the contract. This extension
would be in the final year of a four-year term limit. The 2009 rate schedule of the original contract is replaced
with the attached Exhibit A, rate schedule. There was no rate increase for 2010.
What options exist for the Board? (Include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options)
The Board may either approve or deny Change Order No. 1.
Recommendation to the Board:
I recommend approval of Change Order No. 1 for CTL Thompson under the On-Call Geotechnical Contract to
extend their service contract for 2010.

Project: Weld County On-Call Geotechnical testing generally consists on ensuring materials used during construction meet
contract specifications for embankment,gravel,concrete and asphalt.

The following change is hereby made to the Contract Documents:
Contract Time Extension: The original Agreement for Professional Services is extended from June 18th, 2010 to June
17h, 2011 as permitted by the contract. This extension will be in the final year of a four
year term limit.
Change to Original Rate Schedule: The 2009 Rate Schedule of the original contract shall be replaced with the attached
Exhibit A,2010 Rate Schedule. There was no rate increase for 2010.
CHANGE TO CONTRACT PRICE:
See attached Exhibit A,2010 Rate Schedule
The limit of$50,000 compensation per work order is not modified by this change order and remains in effect.
CHANGE TO CONTRACT TIME:
The Contract time will be increased by 365 calendar days.
