Project contractor Edward Kraemer& Sons, Inc., under Colorado Department of Transportation Project STA C80-0-001, has designated Aggregate Industries(AI)as the ready-mix concrete supplier for this project, with the sand for the ready-mix concrete to be supplied from the Longmont Distel site. This is an improvements project involving extension of 120th Avenue in Broomfield from Wadsworth across State Highway 36,which requires mandatory night closure of Highway 36 during the bridge deck pour in order to maintain the least disruption to traffic. In order to accommodate the terms of this public works project,AI needs to exercise a temporary variance from the Longmont Distel USR to allow night truck loading and hauling of material to the project site. The bridge deck pour is currently scheduled for the night of April 30-May 1. The project requires approximately 975 tons of sand from the Longmont Distel site. A loader will be used to load out from stockpiled material to the haul trucks. We anticipate that 50-75%of the material will be hauled outside the daylight hours limitation. This would be approximately 20 to 30 truck hauls after dusk from Longmont Distel to the project. It is expected that the last haul out would occur not later than 10:30 p.m. The haul route will be west on WCR 20.5 to WCR 1,then south on WCR Ito Highway 52. We respectfully request that this notice be placed in Planning Services file for 4thAmUSR-877. In support of this notice, please find enclosed a copy of Edward Kraemer& Sons purchase order for the Aggregate Industries materials, which includes reference to the project number.
