I am writing regarding the proposed uranium mining in Weld County. I am vigoriously opposed
to this. Mining will impact our water supply, degrade the land, decrease property values,
degrade the quality of life we enjoy and increase the chances of radioactive spills. This
proposed mining may bring jobs but at what cost? Will people really want to move here
anymore? The former number 1 spot for places to live will of course decrease dramatically.
Water will go to mining that needs to go to farmers and your constituents who will not be too
happy about it. In situ mining uses massive quantities of water. Water is precious in
Colorado and needs to be left alone. Please use your influence and power to stop uranium
