RE: APPROVE TRANSFER OF $60,000.00 OF COMMUNITY SERVICE BLOCK GRANT
FUNDS FROM WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with the request for$60,000.00 of Community
Service Block Grant Funds to be transferred from the Department of Human Services reserves to
the Greeley-Weld County Housing Authority, to be allocated for reimbursing salary hours for staff
members who are directly working in shelter operation or case management at one of the following
local shelters: Catholic Charities, Greeley Transitional House, or A Woman's Place, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said request for
$60,000.00 of Community Service Block Grant Funds to be transferred from the Department of
Human Services reserves to the Greeley-Weld County Housing Authority. A copy of the proposed
distribution of funds among the three local shelters is attached as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, ex-officio Housing Authority Board,that the request for$60,000.00 of Community
Service Block Grant Funds to be transferred from the Department of Human Services reserves to
the Greeley-Weld County Housing Authority be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 23rd day of August, A.D., 2010.

Memo to Weld County Commissioners
From: Tom Teixeira Weld County Housing Authority
The 2010 County Shelter Grants
The Department of Human Services is providing $60,000 in Community Service Block
Grant Funds to assist three local shelters in providing for homeless individuals and
families. These funds will reimburse salary hours for staff members who are directly
working in shelter operation or case management. Allocations were made based on
number of nights of stay and families case managed.

Staff recommends that the board approve the allocations and authorize the entering into
